Terms of Service

Last updated July 2, 2026

These terms govern access to the MAVREC portal and services provided by MAVREC Elevator Controls Ltd. ("MAVREC"). By creating an account or using the portal you agree to these terms on behalf of your organization. Hardware purchases and installation are governed by your signed order and installation agreement, which take precedence where they differ.

The service

MAVREC provides elevator voice control, in-cab displays, safety event detection (SAYFE), analytics and related management software on a per-elevator monthly subscription. Features vary by plan and installed hardware; capabilities that require specific hardware (for example live camera view) are available only once released, and only on cabs where that hardware is installed and the corresponding add-on is active. Early-access features are provided as-is while they mature and may change before general availability.

Safety features are supplementary

SAYFE augments - and never replaces - the code-required elevator communication and emergency systems in your building. It is not a life-safety system of record, is not a substitute for 911 or your monitoring service, and detection is probabilistic: events may be missed or falsely detected. You remain responsible for maintaining code-compliant emergency communications and for the accuracy of your alert recipient list.

Your responsibilities

Keep your account credentials secure and your team list current; obtain any tenant or workplace notices required for in-cab audio/camera equipment in your jurisdiction; provide the site conditions described in your installation agreement (power per building; a building network connection is optional, as cellular connectivity is included); use the service lawfully and only for buildings you are authorized to manage.

Subscriptions and billing

Subscriptions are billed monthly per elevator in Canadian dollars through Stripe, plus applicable taxes. Plan changes take effect on the next invoice. Either party may cancel a building's subscription with 30 days' notice; connected features stop at the end of the paid period while on-device functions (voice calling, displays) continue to operate offline.

Data

Your building data remains yours. Our collection and handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy. We may use aggregated, de-identified operational data to improve detection models and the service.

Limitations

The service is provided on an "as available" basis during the pilot program. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MAVREC's aggregate liability under these terms is limited to the fees paid for the affected building in the twelve months preceding the claim, and neither party is liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

General

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. We may update these terms with 30 days' notice to account holders; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. Questions: info@mavrec.ca.
