SAYFE built-in safety layer
Help can start three ways.
SAYFE adds an intelligent safety layer to the elevator without replacing the existing emergency call system. It gives the building its own awareness and communication path alongside the existing emergency phone. Detection runs on the device itself; audio is not continuously streamed.

Straight answers before you commit to anything.
Is VOYCE always listening?
VOYCE is always ready for “Hey Elevator,” but wake-phrase and floor recognition happen entirely offline inside the elevator. Voice operation does not use an internet connection, and floor requests are not sent to the cloud. Optional Portal services are separate. Two-way voice or video begins only when those features are deliberately used.
Do I need a subscription to use VOYCE?
No. VOYCE voice control and the floor experience we commission stay included for the life of the hardware. Paid Portal plans add managed connectivity and remote services when your building wants them.
Do we replace the existing elevator buttons?
No. Your existing controls stay in place and work exactly as they do today. MAVREC is an add-on beside them, not a replacement.
Will it work with our elevators?
Yes. MAVREC is controller- and OEM-agnostic: hydraulic or traction, new or legacy, any major manufacturer. It is a retrofit, not a modernization. Your equipment stays exactly as it is and the voice layer is added to it.
Is it elevator-code compliant?
Yes. MAVREC is CSA North American certified to CSA B44.1 and ASME A17.5 and built from UL and CSA recognized components, for use across Canada and the United States.
What happens during a fire alarm or emergency?
Code comes first. The in-cab VOYCE station disables itself during Firefighter Emergency Operation, so responders keep full manual control of the elevator.
How long does installation take?
Installed in days, not weeks: most elevators are done in about a day, and taller buildings take a little longer. Your elevator contractor schedules it around normal service, and MAVREC commissions it with you.
Can our elevator maintenance company install it?
Yes. VOYCE is installed by a licensed elevator contractor, usually the company that already maintains your elevators. They can start a quote on the spot with no login and send it to us, and we return a complete quote. We support the contractor directly with wiring guidance, commissioning, signage, training and compliance documentation.
What is the difference between VOYCE Mini and VOYCE Pro?
Same platform, same Portal plans. VOYCE Pro adds a 10.1-inch widescreen and an integrated camera, which enables live view and video features on an eligible plan.
Does SAYFE stream audio?
No. Detection runs on the device in the cab. With Included, a detected event triggers the local action you configured. On Connected and above, the event and its timeline are sent to your Portal so your team can respond.
What happens if we cancel a Portal plan?
At the end of the paid period, remote features stop: content changes, alerts, analytics and campaign tools. VOYCE voice operation continues offline, exactly as it was commissioned.
What happens if cellular connectivity drops?
Nothing changes for riders. Voice control continues entirely offline, while Portal services reconnect automatically when cellular service returns.
Do we need to put this on our building network?
No. Portal plans use managed cellular, so nothing touches your network and no IT approvals are needed. Building network integration is optional where supported.
What kind of warranty is included?
Hardware is covered for as long as a Portal plan is active. If a unit fails, we replace it, and on Connected and above we ship the replacement before the failed unit comes back. Hardware running on Included alone carries a one-year limited warranty. Your elevator contractor handles the swap.
