SMS Terms & Opt-In
These terms describe the MAVREC SAYFE safety-alert text messaging (SMS) program operated by MAVREC Elevator Controls Ltd. ("MAVREC", "we", "us"). By providing a mobile number and agreeing to receive these alerts, you consent to the terms below.
What messages we send
This program sends transactional safety and emergency notifications only from MAVREC's toll-free number to the emergency-alert recipients a building designates — for example, notice that a distress event has been detected in an elevator, or that a passenger has called for help, and updates when such an event is dispatched or resolved. We do not send marketing or promotional messages through this program.
How you opt in
An authorized administrator for a building adds emergency-alert recipients in the MAVREC portal (mavrec.ca), entering each recipient's mobile number and confirming that the recipient has agreed to receive MAVREC safety and emergency text alerts at that number. Providing a mobile number and agreeing to these SMS Terms constitutes your consent to receive the messages described above. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.
What the opt-in looks like
Because alert recipients are added inside the authenticated MAVREC portal, the consent step is reproduced below exactly as it appears to a building administrator on the Safety page. Entering a mobile number reveals the consent checkbox, and the number cannot be added for text alerts unless the box is ticked.
The consent checkbox is never pre-selected. It is shown unchecked by default — exactly as pictured below — and the administrator must actively tick it. If it is left unchecked, the mobile number is rejected and is not enrolled for text messages.
Shown in its default state: the consent checkbox is unchecked and must be actively ticked by the administrator. It is never pre-selected, and consent is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies and depends on safety-event activity. You will typically receive messages only when a safety or emergency event occurs at a building you are assigned to, so most recipients receive messages infrequently.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply, according to the terms of your mobile carrier plan. MAVREC does not charge a fee for these messages.
How to opt out
You can cancel the SMS service at any time by replying STOP to any message. After you send STOP, we will send a one-time confirmation and you will receive no further messages from this program unless you re-enroll. A building administrator can also remove you as an alert recipient in the portal.
